Leaf & Brush Pick Up

Brush & Limbs

Brush and Limbs are picked up the first 10 days of the month from April through November. Brush and limbs should be placed in your alley before the first day of the month and will be collected as weather and volume allow. Limbs must be less than one inch in diameter and less than four feet long.

Compost Site

City residents may also haul their yard waste to the City Compost Site on Indiana State Road 124 East across from Expert Transmission. Usage of the City Compost Site is free to Bluffton residents, and its gates are open seven days a week from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Autumn Leaf Collection

Curbside leaf pickup takes place according to your regular trash/recycling pickup day except Riverview and Old Creek additions. Leaves are collected from public streets two times in each part of the city during October through November.

Leaves should be raked to the CURB (not into the street) by Monday morning of your pickup week, and crews will make one pass-through during that week. Avoid placing piles around mailboxes, utility poles, fire hydrants or traffic signs.

2026 Leaf Pickup Schedule:

  • Route A = If your trash/recycling day is Monday, or you live in Riverview and/or Old Creek additions, your leaves will be picked up the weeks of October 12th and November 9th.
  • Route B = If your trash/recycling day is Tuesday, your leaves will be picked up for the weeks of October 19th and November 16th.
  • Route C = If your trash/recycling day is Wednesday (excluding Riverview and Old Creek additions), your leaves will be picked up the weeks of October 26th and November 23rd.

As long as conditions allow and there is a need for additional leaf pickup, crews will continue picking up leaves in December independent of trash pickup schedules. Leaf collection will continue to run through the end of the year until all leaf piles are collected.

Live Christmas Tree Collection

Live Christmas trees will be picked up curbside starting January 4th, 2027, and continue until all trees are collected. Note: There cannot be any tree stands, decorations, or lights on the trees to be collected.
