The annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will be held on Thursday, March 8th featuring guest speaker Wes Rediger. Everyone is invited to attend. This year the event will be held at the Arts Commerce Visitors Centre beginning at 7:30am. Reservations can be made by filling out the online form or by calling the Mayor’s Office at 824-1520. Cost $16.
Wes Rediger grew up in Upland, Indiana, worked elsewhere for thirty years, and now lives in Upland again where his wife, JoAnn, teaches music at Taylor University.
Wes serves Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Blackford County as pastor part-time, where the neighbors are beans and the music is country.
After a career in education and in addition to serving the congregation, Wes consults with non-profit boards in visioning, planning, and funding through his firm, Rediger Taylor Group LLC.
Client projects have been varied including Wells County Arts, Commerce, and Visitor’s Center, Berne Muensterberg Plaza and Clock Tower, Grant County Family YMCA, Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary, Amman, Jordan, Adventure Learning Center, Nassau, Bahamas, Bible Literacy Project, New York City, Springs Rescue Mission, Colorado Springs, Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission, Philadelphia, Sports World Ministries and Crossroads Bible College, Indianapolis, Lithuania Christian College, Klaipeda, Lithuania, and United Christian Broadcasters, Northern Ireland, and Regents Theological College, West Malvern, England.
He also gives multi-media presentations on the subjects, “The Re-United States of America,” and “The First Amendment,” and presents a piano program of familiar melodies with little-known back-stories.
Currently, Wes assists Bluffton NOW! with the downtown redevelopment project.
Their daughter, Andrea, is a Purdue-grad veterinarian in Springfield, where her husband is an attorney with the State of Illinois, and their children attend school in Chatham.
Their son, James, teaches at Ball State University, while his wife heads a community development corporation working on housing in south central Muncie, where they and their daughter live and are in leadership at Urban Light Community Church.
A son of Milo and Velma Rediger, Wes is a 1968 graduate of Taylor, earned an Ed.D in Educational Administration at Ball State in 1985, and the CFRE, Certified Fund Raising Executive in 1993. He has played guitar for fifty years, enjoys running and gardening, and has an expired real estate broker’s license and an extensive cuff link collection.
