How to Acquire Electric, Water, and/or Wastewater Service:

 

For New Customers

For new residential customers, a deposit is required.

  • $25 deposit – applicable for for new residential customers with a reference from a prior utility company or a good credit check (run by Bluffton Utilities)
  • -or- $50 deposit – applicable for new residential customers without a reference or who do not wish to have their credit ran.

There are three ways to apply for new service:

  1. Apply online.
  2. Call the Utility Office at 260-824-2500
  3. Visit the Bluffton Utilities office at 128 E Market Street

 

For Existing Customers

Current residents wishing to transfer service to a new location may request those changes one of three ways:

  1. Email the Bluffton Utility Office with the requested changes
  2. Call the Utility Office at 260-824-2500
  3. Visit the Bluffton Utilities office at 128 E Market Street

E-billing

Customers now have the option to go paperless and receive their Bluffton Utility bill via email. 

Simply call the Utility office at (260) 824-2500 or click the “Sign Up” button below.

Utility Payment Options

Bluffton Utility bills include charges for electric, water, sewage and trash & recycling collection. The following are our current payment options:

By Mail, at Utility Office, or Utility Drop Box
Customers can make payments by placing them in by mail, by visiting the Bluffton Utility Office during normal business hours, or by depositing them in the gray drop box located on the east side of City Hall. The billing stub with their name and address must accompany the payment.

Utility office hours are Monday through Friday 8am – 4:30pm.

Automatic Debit 
Customers can also sign up to have their monthly bill paid automatically by using the Automatic Debit feature. To do so, customers must bring a voided check, or a letter from their bank that lists a routing number and their checking account number, to the Utility Office. Automatic Debit customers will continue to receive their bill each month listing the amount owed and the date that it will be debited from their account.

Online Payment (Credit or Debit Cards)
Customers are also able to pay by credit card or debit card. To do so, customers must provide an email address to the utility office to set up their online billing account. Please note: there is a $3.95 charge per credit/debit card transaction.
