Values: The Bluffton Police Department has been entrusted with the duties and responsibilities to preserve, protect, and defend people and property and maintain social order. These public trusts mandate that all members exemplify the highest standard of conduct both on and off duty.

Mission: The Bluffton Police Department shall provide leadership, coordination and delivery of law enforcement support services for the protection and safety of the community.

Goals: The Bluffton Police Department shall maintain the highest standard of professional excellence. It shall deter criminal activity and seek, detect, and arrest offenders of the law. It shall enhance traffic safety, deter motor vehicle crashes, and enforce the Indiana Criminal Code, and the City of Bluffton Ordinances.

The Bluffton Police Department shall maximize compliance with state and local laws and ordinances providing support services to meet law enforcement and emergency needs. It shall provide the expertise and resources to educate the public in life safety and crime prevention.

History

The Bluffton Police Department we established in 1851 with paid night watchmen and has grown to a professional and well-trained agency of men and women. We have several specialized units that include DARE, K-9, Bike Patrol and Honor Guard, and are dedicated to providing the highest quality of professional Police service to the citizens and community of Bluffton.
